Phil Hoffmann
is the team photographer for the Baltimore Ravens and the
thirty varsity sports at the United States Naval Academy.
During his twenty-four year career, he has photographed
the entire gamut of sports from the Super Bowl to little
league baseball, to the Olympics, Major League Baseball,
the PGA Tour, Horse racing, and the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
Hoffmann's photographs have been published in many newspapers
and magazines, including, The Washington Post, the Baltimore
Sun, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrated for
Kids, The Sporting News, Smithsonian Magazine, and People
Magazine. He has also had his photographs published in sports-related
books, such as, A Civil War, The Last Amateurs, and Last
Man Standing, all by the best-selling author John Feinstein,
and Super Journey: Diary of the Ravens World Championship
Season. Before devoting himself to photography, Hoffmann
authored The Complete Guide to Scuba Diving in Hawaii.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, with a degree
in ocean engineering, he also has a master's degree in mechanical
engineering. Hoffmann spent nine years in the Navy before
pursuing a lifelong love of photography. He and his wife
reside in Maryland at Misty Blue Farm where they board and
train horses. |
